Ralph Lauren inspired

Do you get up many days and wonder "What the heck am I going to wear?" and stand in your closet for what seems like hours trying to decide?
I follow several other bloggers and notice that many get inspired by the outfits they see in magazines, other blogs or Pinterest.  So, I started doing the same.  I tear out photos of outfits that I like and keep them in a folder or pin them from Pinterest.
Today's outfit was inspired by the above photo that was a Ralph Lauren ad.

If you struggle with what to wear, try printing out combinations you like and see if it doesn't make getting dressed in the morning a little easier.
I loved the knee high socks with mary jane shoes.
I felt a little like Marsha Brady.

dress/jacket=skirt/top/jacket

This photo was actually taken earlier in the summer but I failed to post.
I took a dress, added a jacket to give it a skirt, top and jacket look.

The dress alone is not my favorite

I love this handmade jewelry I purchased at a show in Minneapolis.

I had to add this photo with my dog "Armani".  He has to be right with me.

My fall decor

Seasonal decorating is one of my favorite things to do.
I have a storage room full on decorations for every season.
This beautiful fern was in a black urn, until I broke out this antique piece.
Thanks to my friend Dody's eye for treasures.

This arrangement is on my front porch.  I took a cheap mirror painted it charcoal grey and brought it outside.  The table was in  my family room and I hauled it outside.  The fall decorations could be considered vintage, I have had them so long.
Popped the pillows on the chairs for a punch of color.
The urns and wicker baskets have been like this all summer.  I was happy with how they turned out.
I changed my door decoration out to a fall wreath.
These little cuties were purchased on my last trip to Indiana at Karen's Design.  I did have daisies in them, prior.  Notice my DIY purple dresser.  It started out the white finish with gold trim.  Remember that style furniture back in the 70's?
Just a little touch of fall.  My grandchildren love to pick up the blue bird.  Now, they have the pumpkins that are just their size.
Another little splash.
Dining Room.  Ceramic pumpkins are on the buffet.
I like to take everyday pieces and change them to a season look, like putting the pumpkin on the candle stick.  The candle on the right really isn't crooked, must be an optical illusion because of the angle.

What are some of your favorite fall decorating ideas?

Barn lovin' City Slicker

Growing up,  I loved to spend time on my uncles farms.  My mom had 4 brothers who all had farms.  Unfortunately, we were the "city slickers".
I would spend as many weekends with my cousins, as I possibly could.  I loved riding motorcycles, driving the tractors and trucks in the field, way before I was 16.
Growing up I would take every opportunity I could get to ride horses, whether it was at bible camp or taking horse back riding lessons.  I remember begging my parents to move to the country, so that I could have a horse.  Didn't work!
I continue to love western wear and wear my Ariat cowboy boots, often.  They are a "go- to" when shopping the Mall of America, as they are so comfortable.  While talking about clothing, I have to add~This is a pajama inspired top by Etcetera but I totally fashioned it differently.

This photo really resignated with me.  Riding in the combine with my uncles, playing in the grain bins or grain wagons were all memories of the fall.
This barn of Healing Arts Wellness Center reminds me of the one that I took riding lessons at Many years ago.  Maybe, at 50 I will start up riding again!

grey but sunny

It is a cool Saturday morning here in Hudson, WI (35 degrees)
Very hazy in some areas and sunny in others.
I actually wore this outfit, yesterday while running with my granddaughter and taking my grandson back and forth to school.  It was very comfortable.  Especially the boyfriend jeans.
I ended up really liking the combination and decided to take the time and photo the outfit for you.
This grey jacket has been a winner.  It goes with so many of the jewel tones that I wear.
It really helps pop the colors underneath it.
A Close UP!!!
I have to say that none of these photos have been edited, only cropped.
I believe the skincare regimen I have been using is working.  I am a lotions & potions gal and the closer I get to 50 the more important it is getting.  Can you relate?
Here is a plug for the shoes~I am wearing AGL shoes and I bought them to wear to Spain.  They along with a FLY brand shoes held up to the test.
 Caught in motion!

Don't have to worry about busting out the knees on this pair
You can see the hazy skies in the background of this photo.
I don't like when bloggers keep their eyes covered, so here is one with no glasses!

all mixed up

The title says it all!
I was playing with mixing the stripes with the butterfly scarf and then popping the bright color from the scarf.  I usually wear more simple patterns but I had fun trying this combo.

I used to own a boutique called Made Ya Look and this is where the majority of this outfit came from.

Botanical mix fix

I have been under the weather for a few days, now.  Today, I had to run errands and a meeting but didn't want to wear drab colors like the way I felt.  Thus, the floral jacket and patterned pants.  It was definitely a lift to my spirit.

I was not a fan of this photo but liked the look of the flowers, so I left it in for you to see.  I am a "theme girl".  This year the color scheme for my flowers was pink and white, with all greenery at the door.  The yellow flowers are annuals.  Do you have a "plan" for your flowers each year?
